Why did you want to work at Emerson?
I was impressed by how well everyone worked together and got along as colleagues and friends. There is a sense of playfulness combined with purpose, and folks really seem to enjoy their jobs.
What wows you about Emerson School?
I am an Ann Arbor public school kid and had some preconceived notions about Emerson. After working here for a week, I was so impressed by what was accomplished within these walls for kids of all kinds. The care and support shown to students by teachers and staff alike make this a very special place to learn and grow up.
In one word, what is your working style?
Laid back
How would students describe you?
I am Mrs. P. If they know me well, that means they spend more time in the office than they probably should.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
Super Respiratory System Woman! I’d like to be able to run, spin, erg, and row without getting out of breath! Yeah!
Favorite artist or band?
Pink Floyd
What would surprise people about you?
I’m slightly addicted to rowing…although it’s probably not too surprising to those I work closely with.
What do you do when you’re not at Emerson?
Row…And belong to a book group, a dinner group, crafting group, and a ladies birthday dinner group…I’m very group orientated.
Who/what inspires you?
My kids. I hit the jackpot in the kid department—they amaze and inspire me daily.
What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Chocolate chip mint
