The most important factor in your child’s education is ensuring they are in an environment where they can truly thrive.

At Emerson, we provide a dynamic and nurturing curriculum for students from Young Fives through 8th grade, designed to ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and inspire a lifelong love of learning. Our approach tailors education to each child’s unique strengths, helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a supportive, joyful setting. Our admissions process is thoughtfully designed to ensure Emerson is the right fit for your child, so that they can flourish and reach their full potential within our vibrant, engaging community.

The Admissions Process

Learn About Emerson School
You’re already off to a good start by exploring Emerson’s website. The best way to learn more about our school is by taking a tour. You can attend one of our small group tours and information meetings, or schedule an individual tour. To register for a tour event, or schedule an individual tour, click here.

Submit an Application
It only takes a few minutes to complete a student application. You can save your progress and return later, monitor the status of your application, and review your application anytime. The application includes a link for parents to request a confidential online assessment from their child’s current teacher.
Each application requires a non-refundable $60 application fee. If this creates a financial hardship that would otherwise prohibit you from applying, please contact us at admissions@emerson-school.org

Request or Upload Academic Records
For applicants for 1st through 8th grade, request copies of grade reports from your child’s current school using the link in the application. Alternatively, if you have complete copies of your child’s grade reports from the current and prior school year, you may upload them directly into your online application. For young five and kindergarten applicants, please upload progress reports, if available. Please include copies of your child’s IEP, 504 plan, and/or any other pertinent materials regarding your child’s learning style.

Gather Current Academic Work Samples (1st-8th grade applicants only)
Gather examples of your child’s current work in writing and math and upload them to the Supplemental Information folder in your admissions parent portal. This will help us to choose an appropriate “starting point” for the academic assessments conducted during a campus visit.

Attend a Campus Visit
One of the final steps in the application process is for your child to spend two days at Emerson with students in their current grade level. Campus visits will be scheduled until the last school day in May for students interested in starting in the fall.

For Young Fives and Kindergarten
Applicants are invited to one of our applicant visit days and can choose between January 31, February 21, or February 28.

Notice of Nondiscriminatory Policy as to Students
Emerson School welcomes students of all races, colors, national and ethnic origins, genders, sexual orientations, religions, family statuses, and socio-economic statuses to enjoy all rights, privileges, programs, and activities available to students. The school does not discriminate based on race, color, national or ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, family status, or socio-economic status in its educational policies, admissions, financial aid programs, or other school-administered programs

Apply Today!

Because of small class sizes, many grades reach capacity, so we encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible to ensure your child is considered. Emerson is a rolling enrollment school, so there is no cutoff date for applications.

Applications can be submitted at any time and will be considered as long as space is available.
