At the heart of our Foundation program (Young Fives through 3rd grade) is a commitment to nurturing the whole child. Through the Responsive Classroom approach and mindfulness practices, we create a safe, welcoming environment where children are encouraged to explore and grow. Small class sizes allow our passionate educators to meet each student where they are, offering individualized support to stretch their potential and develop their unique strengths. Collaboration across grades and between specials and homeroom fosters a sense of community, while enrichment opportunities in music, art, QUEST Tech, QUEST Science, Spanish, physical education, and library broaden their learning experiences.
Community-building is central to the Foundation experience, from school-wide assemblies to our buddy program, where older students help guide and support younger peers. Our emphasis on developing resiliency, alongside a strong focus on early literacy, ensures that students are equipped with the skills they need to thrive. With additional support from our Support and Enrichment Team, students receive both push-in and pull-out programs that recognize their strengths while helping to develop other academic areas. In our intimate, joyful classrooms, children learn to care for themselves, one another, and their community, setting the stage for a lifelong love of learning.
