What year did you start at Emerson?
2014
What wows you about Emerson School?
Strong emphasis on academics, intellectually curious and fun environment, lots of extra activities for students that are not always found elsewhere.
In one word, what is your working style?
Diligent
How would students describe you?
Not wanting to spend class time interviewing people, I’ve asked a single student: “You teach us things but still have humor.” That sounds about right.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
Invisibility but I don’t have a solid answer as to why. It seems like it would be serene in some way.
Favorite artist or band?
Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, though this is an almost impossible question. If it’s 1994? Almost any TV commercial jingle. 1998? The Beatles. 2002? The Dropkick Murphys. 2006? Death Cab for Cutie (or The Decemberists). 2010? Iron and Wine. But, overall: Ben Harper.
What would surprise people about you?
I used to be a radio DJ, and I was also a volunteer firefighter in France!
What do you do when you’re not at Emerson?
Do work for Emerson, play with my daughters, cook, read, watch TV
What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Chocolate & Peanut Butter Swirl
If a movie were made about you, who would be cast to play you?
I think a claymation style biography would be cool. So maybe Wallace, because though Gromit plays his dog role very convincingly, I don’t know that he’d be able to pull off being me.
Favorite quote, or anything else you would like Emerson families to know about you?
“Studies have shown that more information is passed through water-cooler gossip than through official memos, which puts me at a disadvantage because I bring my own water to work.” This is true: I do bring my own water to work each day.
