Why did you want to work at Emerson?
“At Emerson School, we believe that school doesn’t have to be boring; that teaching to tests will never excite, challenge, nurture, and engage the whole child the way school should.”
School does not have to be boring. If you just “teach to the test”, your students are not engaged and it will affect their desire to become lifelong learners.
What wows you about Emerson?
I am floored by working in a community that focuses on education.
In one word, what is your working style?
Engaging
How would students describe you?
Quote from a former student, “You have always been able to make me laugh, or whenever I’m down, lift me up. Even if you don’t think so, you are a huge inspiration. I will never forget you.”
I just want all my students to know that I will always be there for them.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
Favorite artist or band?
Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Prince (go-to artists when I want to unwind)
What would surprise people about you?
I am a living organ donor.
What do you do when you’re not at Emerson?
If I am traveling I love to go to Disney World.
Who/what inspires you?
My wife Jessica, she is a survivor and makes me want to be a better person.
What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Not a big ice cream fan, but I will have seconds on the steak.
If a movie were made about you, who would be cast to play you?
Chris Hemsworth (I know it doesn’t make sense but it’s my movie.)
