What year did you start at Emerson?
1994
Why did you want to work at Emerson?
I was looking for a part-time band director position, in the newspaper- which by the way is very rare to find. Why did I stay? The community: students, colleagues and parents!
What wows you about Emerson School?
I am truly amazed by the staff members at Emerson. We have such creative and passionate people that work here. I feel very lucky to be a part of this team!
In one word, what is your working style?
ENTHUSIASTIC! : ) <3
How would students describe you?
Caring, funny, passionate, creative, silly, family, on occasion LOUD
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
I would want the ability to manipulate time so I could slow down time to really enjoy special moments in the day as well as getting in a good nap.
Favorite artist or band?
Michael Buble – amazing in concert!
What would surprise people about you?
I was one of the first Spartan Marching Band members that helped start the tradition of “Sparty Watch.” The week before MSU plays U of M, the SMB members guard Sparty – it’s now a huge event, with DJ’s, movies, the Sparty mascot and visits by the current coaches.
What do you do when you’re not at Emerson?
I love being outside in nature, spending time with family and friends. I enjoy being creative and trying new things that take me (a little) out of my comfort zone.

My family. We may face challenges in life but we play the hand that we are dealt to the best of our abilities.

Cherry Garcia – Yum!
If a movie were made about you, who would be cast to play you?
Melissa McCarthy – wow, that would be amazing and so much fun to watch!
Favorite quote, or anything else you would like Emerson families to know about you?
“Live a life of love, honesty, appreciation, kindness and strength…sprinkled with a little silliness.” “Fake it ’til ya make it!” “Hey band! Hey what! Show me how to get down. B A N D that’s the way to get down!”
